Bill Peyser is a retired CPA and finance professional. He is a member of the Keeping Seniors Safe program with the Montgomery County Police Department. Bill’s presentation will focus on the two primary manipulation techniques scammers use to trick us into sending money or revealing personal information. He will then discuss some of the most prevalent scams, phishing campaigns, and fraudulent text messages and show you how to identify the red flags.
Older adults can proactively take steps to protect themselves, and Bill will review them in detail. The presentation also includes a short case study followed by testimony from a scam victim and a question-and-answer period.
